Feathers and leathers or dragons and knights are the order of the day at a St George's Day celebration.

Marking England saint's day at a special fancy dress gig in Swindon are Binomial, the synth duo who are making a name for themselves on the summer festival circuit. The musicians take the sounds of 1980s electronic bands and re-arrange them into classic synth-pop for the naughties.

Binomial are Paul Dobson, vocalist, and BBC Introducing electro dance artist, ALR, aka Andy Randle.

Paul said: "We are future-proofing the past. The decision to be a covers band and not a tribute band has given us the freedom to do the 80s our way - and has proved extremely popular. It has led to us packing out music venues in Wiltshire and Gloucestershire and to playing large events like Lakefest and The Phoenix Festival.''

The duo will be packing out Riffs Bar, Greatfield, Hook on Saturday, April 23 from 7pm at the 80s night with a St George themed fancy dress code.

Binomial create the New Romantics and Blitz Kids atmosphere of the London clubs in the 1980s, playing their own versions of the Pet Shop Boys, Depeche Mode, Erasure, Soft Cell, OMD, The Human League and Yazoo in modern electronica style.

Tickets to the St George's Day party are £4 on the door. For more details call 01793 778304 - Flicky Harrison
