POLICE have released an e-fit picture of a man following an incident in Liden where a woman was assaulted on her doorstep.

The woman answered her door of her home on Fairlawn at around 11.50am on April 21 to a man who asked about a moped for sale.

Wiltshire Police said a second man then appeared and started to assault the woman and push his way into the house. The men fled when another occupant of the house arrived.

They ran down an alley which backs on to fields, leaving their victim shaken but unhurt.

PC Rebecca Weaver said: "We would like to hear from anyone who recognises the man in the e-fit or witnessed two males acting suspiciously or running in the Liden area at this time, on this date.

"I would also ask anyone who may have had males knock at their door that morning to contact me.”

The first man is described as white, in his early 20s, 5ft 5ins tall, of slim build and with an Irish accent. He was clean shaven with short brown hair and wore a blue sweatshirt and pale trousers.

The other had his face covered with a white or cream scarf. He was white, slightly taller and of larger build.

Anyone with information can contact PC Weaver on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
