FOLLOWING a burglary in Allington, Wiltshire Police is renewing an appeal for witnesses to the incident.

The appeal is being issued to the public after the burglary at a bungalow on the A338 Tidworth Road in Allington on May 3.

Offenders broke into the property through a back window and stole a number of personal documents and jewellery from the owners of the house between 8.30am and 5.40pm.

The stolen jewellery is described as a gold nine carat engagement ring with sapphire surrounded by diamonds, an 1800’s gold ring with two diamonds surround one sapphire, a gold ring with diamonds in an s shape and Swarovski earrings.

A steel metal locked box containing birth certificates, two passports, marriage certificates, packs of old coins and sovereigns was also stolen.

PC Jeanette Brownsea, of Amesbury Police Station, said: “Following enquiries carried out, we are particularly keen to speak to anyone who may have seen a large, black, 4x4-possible a Ford- with a trailer, in the area on the day. It is believed the vehicle had two occupants- both men, described as white, aged in their late 20s to 30s, both with short, blonde hair and both wearing pale coloured, casual clothes.

“This incident has been very upsetting and distressing for the victims who have had several sentimental items stolen.

“Enquiries are continuing, but I would like to appeal to anyone who may have seen or heard any suspicious activity in the area to get in touch immediately.”
