SWINDON is one of the luckiest areas in the country for Lottery wins according to figures from the National Lottery.

The SN postcode rank 18 our ouf 121 for the most high tier wins s (£50,000 and above) per person.

Since the National Lottery began there have been an impressive 306 high tier winners and 41 millionaires with 10 of them in the last two years.

A National Lottery spokesperson said: “Swindon’s Lotto luck is certainly among the country’s best. Ten millionaires in the last two years is very exciting and many more players have banked prizes of varying value, including 306 of at least £50,000, since the launch in 1994.

“There are now a massive 4,250 National Lottery millionaires across the country and with more than six new millionaires made every week there is likely to be another local winner made soon.”

And it isn’t just individuals winning big, the entire community benefits from the money raised by The National Lottery.

In 2015 31 grants worth £2.1 million were distributed to National Lottery funded projects in the Swindon local authority area.

Local schools, universities and community projects all benefitted from the National Lottery Good Causes funding grants, including the National Trust Cycle Trails, Swindon Pride and Sixth Sense Theatre for Young People.

Each National Lottery player helps to raise over £34M every week for Good Causes. This helps fund our athletes competing at Rio, the nation’s arts and heritage and many thousands of projects in local communities across the UK.
