A GROUP of charities are teaming up to offer support and advice to people in the county who may be living with health difficulties.

Wiltshire Sight, in Browfort, Bath Road, Devizes, is hosting a One Stop Shop event joined by Stroke Association, Alzheimer’s Support and Age UK to provide people with as much information and support that the charities can offer.

George Wilson, 21, PR and engagement manager for Wiltshire Sight, said: “Our operations manager Maggie Hemmings came up with the idea as a way of providing information to people who live in the area who may be living with any of these conditions. It is the first one we have done and I would say to people who may visit that it is a good way of finding out what these charities can do for you.”

Wiltshire Sight will be on site to help offer support for people living with sight loss to live independently and help manage their conditions. Alzheimer’s Support and the Stroke Association will also be on hand to provide information to families or people living with the disease and guide them on how the charities can offer the services.

Mrs Hemmings said: “We are very pleased to be working with a number of other organisations. Not only does it strengthen our relationships with other service providers but also means there is so much information available to our members and the public all in one place.”

The One Stop Shop event will take place at St Lucy’s Sight Centre in Bath Road, Devizes, on Wednesday (July 6) from 10.30am-12.30pm.
