Tribute bands pay homage to their musical heroes but for the rock outfit led by drummer Pete Bultitude it is all about connections.

His band Genesis Connected is all about celebrating the music of Genesis and the big name acts that are associated with them including Peter Gabriel's solo act, Phil Collins own songs and Mike and the Mechanics music.

Turn It On Again, Sledgehammer, In The Air Tonight, Over My Shoulder, Against All Odds, That’s All, You Can’t Hurry Love, Solsbury Hill and The Living Years will all rock out the Swindon Arts Centre in Devizes Road, Old Town, from 8pm on Friday.

Each show has the definitive Genesis double drums element with Pete being joined by Ricardo Bonito on drums. Pete is also a versatile vocalist complimenting his best friend Chris Woods on keyboards, guitar and vocals, Lee Spence on guitar and Dhil T on bass guitar.

Pete's childhood was spent in a home full of music, his parents were an award-winning country music duo and he learned to play drums for their backing band.

In 1998 Pete performed live on television in front of 15m viewers in the popular ITV show Stars In Their Eyes. He got through to the grand final with 202,000 votes.

Genesis Connected was formed two years ago and have already notched up prestigious gigs such as performing at the London Paladium.

The idea for Genesis Connected came about when Pete and Chris were performing in a Phil Collins tribute band.

Pete said: "The power cut so I grabbed an acoustic guitar and started playing Over My Shoulder by Mike and the Mechanics and the audience all sang along and so Chris and I thought it was time to do this.''
