A MAN involved in trying to break into a man's home and assault him has been released on bail by a judge.
Daniel Webdell had been due to stand trial accused of attempted burglary with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
But before a jury could be sworn in at Swindon Crown Court he changed his plea to admit the offence.
Webdell, 28, of Marigold Close, and others tried to break into the house on Rutland Road, Park North, to assault a man on Sunday, May 11, 2014.
Alex Daymond, defending, said his client had changed since the offence and now has a job as a ground worker, employing others.
He asked for the case to be adjourned so the probation service can compile a pre-sentence report.
Judge Peter Blair QC put the case off to Friday, August 12, and released Webdell on bail until then.
