A CRAFT fair at the newly refurbished Neeld Community and Arts Centre in Chippenham allowed local craftsmen and women to sell and promote their products while raising money for Wiltshire Air Ambulance.

The fair featured 26 stallholders selling locally produced handmade items such as jewellery, clothing, glassware, gifts, and household items.

The community-orientated craft fair attracted 750 visitors, a massive increase on the previous event in April.

Organisers Harriet Micallef and partner Tarek Janey said: “It was a great event, everyone was very happy with how the day went.”

They also said that the free event was a great way to bring the Chippenham community together.

Some shops in Hathaway Retail Park and Green Square allowed Mr Janey to stand outside with banners advertising the fair to help bring in customers.

The couple are now planning a third community craft fair on December 11 from 11am-3pm with more than 30 stalls.

Wiltshire Air Ambulance said: “This was a great fundraising opportunity, and it was fantastic to gain a new volunteer and welcome them into the team.”

The Wiltshire Air Ambulance has been involved in many incidents in Chippenham, including one earlier this year when 11-year-old Max Chant was flown to Bristol Children’s Hospital after a car accident.
