A DRIVING instructor from Corsham is getting revved up ahead of a charity relay across the country all in aid of Children in Need.

Paul Nash along with learner driver Owen Burgess will travel from the Allington Farm Shop in Chippenham to the Cirencester Rugby Club, nearly 40 miles away.

It will be no normal journey though as the pair will be one of 160 across the country transporting a Pudsey roof box three thousand miles for Children in Need.

The journey will begin in Northern Ireland on November 4 and finish in London on November 18.

“The event has been running for three years but this is the first time it is being endorsed by Children in Need, it’s getting bigger and bigger each year,” said Mr Nash, who has been a driving instructor for two-and-a-half years.

“I’m not nervous about it, I’m excited, I did 20 years in the Army so I’m used to convoys.”

The 56-year-old has also decorated his car with spots and pictures of Pudsey, and will be donating the £50 for the lesson to Children in Need.

“I’ve been getting lots of waves from little kids and my learner drivers think it’s quite good,” said Mr Nash.

“Owen has been driving for two-and-a-half months and a week after he has got his test so we’re using it for driving at night.

“Collectively we’ve raised £35,000 so far for the event.”

Mr Nash’s leg will take place from 4pm on November 7 from the Allington Food Shop.
