UNPAID carers in Wiltshire are being invited to a series of events at hospitals around to county to find out more information on the services and benefits available to them.

Carers Support Wiltshire will be holding sessions at Warminster, Savernake, Chippenham, Swindon and Salisbury hospitals to market Carers’ Rights Day on November 25 to offer their advice and support to the thousands of unpaid carers in Wiltshire.

Catharine Hurford, Carer Support Wiltshire chief executive, said: “This Carers’ Rights Day on November 25, we hope to reach as many carers as possible in Wiltshire, with information and advice about the range of support they are entitled to-whether that’s certain benefits or practical help.

“We already support many carers in the county, but there are more than 47,500 and we want to reach out to all of them and let them know what they are entitled to, and how we can help. Many, many carers are missing out and they don’t need to.”

The annual carers’ day aims to deliver information such as Carers’ Allowance, respite and access to equipment that can help their role as a carer.

The support event will be taking place at Chippenham Hospital in Rowden Hill and Savernake Hospital in Marlborough all day on November 25. For more information and advice on being a carer visit www.carersinwiltshire.co.uk
