MORE than £8,000 was raised for The Prince’s Trust following a golf day and gala dinner at Bowood Golf Course in Calne.

The event, organised by chartered accountants Mander Duffill from Chippenham, was attended by 64 golfers with Richard Hathaway, Nick Hughes, Aidie Kinder and Pat Carty winning on the day.

In the evening more than 160 people went to the gala dinner where an auction was held which included tickets to next year’s Formula One British Grand Prix, signed Premiership football memorabilia and a holiday.

There was also an insight into the work The Prince’s Trust does, which helps young people aged 13 to 30 get into work, education or training.

Julian Duffill, managing partner at Mander Duffill, said: “We are delighted to be able to raise money for and support The Prince's Trust who are in their 40th anniversary year of helping young people turn their lives around.

“Today was a great combination of fun, competition and fundraising which wouldn’t have been possible without the generosity and support of local businesses.”
