THE much awaited Sleight Valley Golf Range, near Devizes, is to open on Monday after a number of delays caused by planning, design and weather problems.
But now farmer Steve Oram is ready to open the 12 bay range and cafe which have been built at his farm at Sleight just off the main A342 at 8am on Monday.
The golf project has taken nearly five years to reach this stage but Mr Oram is pleased to have now got the details exactly right. He said earlier this year: "I changed the plans a bit because I wanted to make the most of the cafe.
"Hopefully it will be the sort of place that people will come to even if they are not using the driving range. For me it is all about making it customer friendly."
The range will be open seven days a week. Car parking is included as part of the scheme as well as toilets and a ball storage building. Access will be off Sleight Lane near the Fox and Hounds Pub.
