A COUPLE in North Bradley have been started to raise money for Dorothy House Hospice by turning their house into a festive light display.

John Fullegar, 42, and Sarah Lowe, 30, of Ash Drive, decked out their home with a colourful display of lights, with everything from penguins to singing Christmas trees, all in aid of Dorothy House Hospice in Winsley.

Mr Fullegar said: “I started all of the ordering and work in February then had a break and restarted in June. We had an opening event on the same evening of the Trowbridge Christmas light switch on and we had about 40 people turn up to it. I got the LEDs from China and the frames from America. I would say to everyone to come and judge it for themselves.”

Now running for the second year, the couple raised over £370 for Dorothy House last year and have already raised £250 since their opening event on November 26.

Miss Lowe said: “Every hour the music will start and the trees will sing. We have had quite a few people stop and watch which has been fun. We have a Just Giving page as well as a text donation service so people can donate a bit for Dorothy House. We decided to choose the hospice charity because of the care and support they provided to my gran after my grandad died nine years ago.”

The couple’s display will continue to run until January 5, giving everyone the chance to pay them a visit and donate to Dorothy House. To donate to the fundraising search John-Christmas16 on www.justgiving.co.uk or text an amount and WVXL55 to 70070.
