AN EXCELLENT performance from Three Daggers saw them destroy Swindon League Premier Division high flyers Bassett Bulldogs 5-1 to book their place in the semi-finals of this season’s Wiltshire Junior Cup.

Matt Morgan missed a header from close range from great delivery from Phil Hampson to give Daggers an early lead, but it wasn’t long before they took the lead following a moment of magic from man of the match Jon Hogarth, who beat two players and delivered a scrumptious ball to the far post for Shaun Sheppard to head home.

Adam Bishop made it 2-0 after chesting the ball up he scissor-kicked it top corner to double the Daggers lead.

Moments later Hogarth found the net with a wonder strike from 50 yards giving the keeper no chance.

The dazzling Hampson was continuing to torment his marker but couldn't find the net to increase his team's lead prior to the break.

The second half slowed in pace but Daggers talisman Paul Beavers made it 4-0 when he latched onto a Bishop cross and headed back across the keeper with a precision finish.

Kane Scott wrapped things up with a delicious looping header going in off the bar.

Bulldogs got a consolation from the penalty spot late on but it didn't spoil a superb performance from the Daggers.

Luxol St Andrews can count themselves lucky to be in the semi-final draw as, for most of their game with fellow Trowbridge League side Westbury Town, they were second best but still managed to claim a 2-1 extra-time success to book their place in the final four.

In a cagey first half neither team were able to forge an opening with the deadlock being broken early in the second half when Tom Rooney headed Luxol in front.

Westbury, who were always in the game, fired home a deserved equaliser on 70 minutes with Natty Morgan levelling things.

Westbury had the better of the chances to win the game in 90 minutes, but were made to pay for not taking any of them when Mark Reynolds struck a wonder goal in the first half of extra time to earn Luxol their nail-biting 2-1 success.
