POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a man was robbed in Trowbridge.
At around 10.45pm yesterday (Monday, January 23), the 23-year-old was walking past County Hall when he was approached by another man.
As the pair approached Tesco Express in Hilperton Road, the man made aggressive threats towards the victim before taking his phone, charger, headphones and coat.
The offender is described as a white male, approximately 20 to 26 years old, and was wearing a hooded top with the hood up.
A 21-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of robbery and remains in police custody at Melksham today.
Detective Sergeant Catherine Kirkham, of Melksham CID, said: “This was a frightening incident for the victim, who fortunately wasn’t injured but was left shaken up as a result.
“Incidents like this are rare in this area, however, we take reports of this nature seriously and are carrying out a thorough investigation."
Police are appealing to anyone who was in the area between County Hall and Tesco Express between 10.30pm and 11pm to get in touch.
