CHARLTON Athletic fans have been given the green light to travel to Belgium to protest against club owner Roland Duchatelet.

The Addicks supporters are joining forces with fans of another club owned by the 70-year-old, Sint-Truiden on March 4 to rally against the Belgian businessman.

More than 200 Charlton fans are expected to make the journey after liaising with the Metropolitan Police.

  • INVESTIGATIONS are ongoing into crowd trouble that marred Bristol Rovers trip to Port Vale at the weekend.

Four arrests were made in a game overshadowed by reports of violence involving supporters, matchday stewards and the police.

Thirty visiting supporters were ejected from the ground in a row over seating at the away end before the police were called to the game after up to 50 fans clashed with stewards.

A 52-year old man was arrested for racially aggravated abuse aimed at a steward, while three others, including a match-day official, were arrested for assault. All have been bailed.

  • MILLWALL captain Tony Craig has triggered a 12-month extension to his contract at The Den, which will now run until the summer of 2018.

The 31-year-old, who has played every minute of the Lions’ League One campaign so far, signed a two-year deal when he rejoined from Brentford in July 2015.

Millwall boss Neil Harris said: “Tony had a clause in his contract once he made a certain amount of league games that an extension kicked in. He hit that a few weeks ago.

“Tony has been outstanding. He had a really difficult first few months of the season – he struggled to find his feet and form. Tony got criticised heavily by the fans.”

  • BOLTON Wanderers are in the hunt for Aberdeen star Peter Pawlett, according to reports.

The League One promotion hopefuls are in a race with Championship duo Queens Park Rangers and Burton Albion for the 26-year-old, who is out of contract at the end of this season.

The ex-Scotland U21 player has spent his whole career with Aberdeen, but having made just five starts this season, Bolton are lining up pre-contract moves.

  • THE football community has been paying tribute to former Oxford United defender Paul McCarthy, who died of a heart attack at the age of 45.

McCarthy began his career at Brighton and made more than 200 appearances before joining Wycombe in 1996.

McCarthy later went on to play for Oxford and Ebbsfleet United, where he lifted the 2008 FA Trophy.
