A 28-YEAR-OLD man has been jailed for five years after he was found to be hiding heroin and crack cocaine between his buttocks at a flat in Chippenham.

Jamel Leader-Thomas, of Clarendon Road, Croydon, was found guilty of possession with intent to supply class A drugs after being arrested in February 2016 at a property in Little George Mead.

Police visited the address to carry out a welfare check on the occupants, where they found Leader-Thomas who was suspected of drug dealing from the flat.

He was arrested under the Misuse of Dugs Act and 19 wraps of heroin and crack cocaine were recovered from between his buttocks.

PC Luke Barnett, of the Dedicated Crime Team, said: “This was a classic case of criminals targeting vulnerable people by befriending them and then taking over their homes to deal drugs – otherwise known as cuckooing

“The Dedicated Crime Team will proactively target known premises and vulnerable members of the community that we suspect may be at risk from out of county Dangerous Drug Networks (DDN) looking to set up their drug dealing business in the market towns of Wiltshire.

“Leader-Thomas was a London runner that had been sent down by a DDN to operate out of the flat in Chippenham.
