TROLLEY loads of Easter eggs were handed over to Devizes Foodbank by a supermarket to make sure youngsters from struggling families do not miss out on Sunday.

Customers at Morrisons in Devizes donated generously after staff put up a notice on the Easter egg display asking if they would be able to buy an extra one for a needy child.

Last week the trolley loads of eggs was handed over to foodbank co-ordinator Alan Beamish. He said: "We are very grateful to Morrisons and all of their customers who made this possible. We were overwhelmed with the number of eggs we were given."

The eggs will be given out through social workers and children's centres to families throughout Devizes, Marlborough and Pewsey who have been identified as needing support from the Foodbank.

On hand for the presentation along with Mr Beamish was Miss Catwalk Wiltshire Sabrina North, Morrisons People Manager Lisa Mulliss and community champion Michelle Hawkins.

Morrisons said they were delighted to once again be able to support the Foodbank. The donation comes as the Foodbank prepares to move to new premises at Devizes Hospital.
