A 54-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested on suspicion of burglary after £30,000 worth of jewellery was stolen from a house in Chippenham.
The man, from the Bristol area, has been released under investigation following enquiries by Wiltshire Police, along with the assistance of officers from Avon and Somerset Police.
Sentimental jewellery including a Tiffany starfish bracelet, a silver and turquoise flower bracelet, an Indian antique turquoise and coral cuff and three stone sapphire and diamond ring, as well as a MacBook Pro, were stolen from a property in Allington on April 7.
Detective Sergeant Anthony King of Central CID said: “This has been another example of Wiltshire Police working closely with a neighbouring Force to ensure offenders, particularly those that think they can cross county borders without detection, will be dealt with robustly.
“Our enquiries are ongoing and we’d continue to ask for anyone to get in touch if they were in the Allington area between midday and 1pm on Friday April 7 and, in particular, anyone who saw a red or maroon coloured vehicle behaving or acting suspiciously. “
Anyone with information can call 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
