PUPILS were evacuated from lessons this morning after a chemical incident at a school in Trowbridge.
Two fire crews from Trowbridge Fire Station were called to John of Gaunt after a bottle of the chemical was dropped in a store cupboard, releasing flammable and potentially harmful toxins into the air.
Pupils in the block near to where the substance was dropped were moved to a different block.
Headteacher Mike Gunston said: "Pupils' studies have not been affected by the incident, they have all been moved to other classrooms and lessons are continuing as normal."
The fire crew, which is still at the scene, also alerted the ambulance service as a precaution, but so far it has not been required.
Details of the substance have not yet been released by the fire service.
