DUNCAN Tanguay has been ordered to complete an alcohol treatment programme after he chewed through a set of police leg restraints.

The 42-year-old of Springfield Crescent, Royal Wootton Bassett, pleaded guilty to a charge of being drunk and disorderly on Royal Wootton Bassett High Street on June 25 when he came before Swindon magistrates.

He further pleaded guilty to assaulting two police officers and chewing through a set of leg restraints.

The bench ordered he complete an alcohol treatment programme and pay £50 compensation along with £40 costs to the Crown Prosecution Service.

Daniel Coxhead, 32, of Croft Road, Old Town, has been ordered to pay compensation to a town centre shop after he was convicted of theft.

Magistrates sitting in Swindon heard how on February 17 he stole an HP wireless mouse valued at £18 from Wilkinsons before stealing a £10 DVD from the same store on February 24.

He must pay a total of £28 in compensation, but the bench made no order for court costs.

Scott Thomas has received a conditional discharge for 18 months after pleading guilty to a seven month period of harassment of another man, as well as using threatening behaviour towards him.

Magistrates ordered he must pay a victim surcharge of £20 and £85 costs to the Crown Prosecution Service.

Henry Waigo, 34, is due before magistrates sitting in Swindon on Wednesday to answer a charge of failing to provide a specimen of breath to police officers.

Waigo, who is currently of no fixed abode in Swindon, remains on unconditional bail ahead of his hearing for the charge dating from June 11.
