THE Melksham-based Songbirds Ladies Choir has handed over cheques worth a total of £610 to Dorothy House Hospice in Winsley following a charity event last week.
Choir member Denise Lea presented the cheques to Dorothy House community fundraiser Ellie Dale on Monday.
The money was raised through a raffle and donations by more than 60 audience members following a charity concert at the Rachel Fowler Centre in Melksham on 18 July.
The concert featured local groups, including the Songbirds Ladies Choir led by Lorraine Mahoney, and the Ebonite Clarinet Ensemble led by Claire King.
Formed in January 2016, the Songbirds sing a mixture of classical, musical theatre, folk and popular song. The choir is based at the West Wiltshire School of Performing Arts in Melksham.
