INDIE rock band Everything Everything and up and coming folk trio Wildwood Kin took to the stage in Marlborough in an exclusive event for music lovers in the town.

Sound Knowledge music shop on Marlborough High Street presented a record signing after Everything Everything performed at Cafe Thirty8 on Sunday night and new comers Wildwood Kin played in the town on Monday.

The trio, who all sing and play their own music instruments, came to Marlborough on Monday after playing a set for BBC Wiltshire on Sunday evening.

Mercury Music Prize 2015 shortlisted band Everything Everything are best known for their single Cough Cough and album Arc which peaked at number five in the UK charts.

From Reading and Leeds to Glastonbury, the band have performed across the UK’s festivals circuit and stopped off in Marlborough as part of a UK wide in-store gig tour.

Sam Robinson, who has been working at Sound Knowledge for six years and was at the performances, said: “Everything Everything had clearly put a lot of effort and thought into these in store gigs.

“The whole crowd knew their songs and were singing along, even ones that had only been out for a couple of days.

“They were really professional guys and the store was completely jammed, with people spilling outside too.

“The Wildwood Kin girls were promoting their first album so I think it was all very exciting for them. Their harmonies were brilliant and of course they all played an instrument each.”

Wildwood Kin formed in Exeter, Devon and are made up of sisters Beth and Emillie Key and their cousin Meghann Loney.

Their debut album ‘Turning Tides’ was released on Monday, coinciding with the live performance and signing session at Sound Knowledge.

Bev, a Wildwood Kin fan who was at the event, said: “The gig was awesome. I only really knew the big singles but after the new album and awesome performance, I've checked all of their music!”

The music store's next event will see the shop hosting Flyte, a four part vocal group from London, on September 7 as they promote their debut album The Loved Ones.
