THE Swindon Advertiser Cup final will be a battle of the current divisional leaders after Ruby Removals booked their place in the showpiece with a 6-3 victory over Tawny Owl on Saturday.

Ruby, currently top of Division One, will tackle Premier Division side Bakers Arms, who lead the way in the top flight, in the final as Ruby maintained their own hopes of a trophy double and ended those of the Owl at Moredon Rec.

In the Premier Division, the all-Stratton battle went the way of Stratton Juniors, who edged past Lower Stratton 3-2 to stay seventh in the table.

There was a thriller at the bottom of the table as Supermarine just held of Ramsbury to win 4-3 and leapfrog their rivals into third-from-bottom position.

Ali Mair netted twice for Ramsbury, while Max Derrick was also on target, but Kyle Parker scored twice for Marine, with Kyle Bowyer and Brendor Nkegbe also on target for the winners.

Swindon Spitfires ensured the middle of the table is a congested one as they lowered the colours of fifth-placed Wheatsheaf 4-3, but bottom side Swindon Centurians Spectrum were on the receiving end as they were thumped 6-0 by Wroughton.

Marlborough Reserves moved level on points with cup-committed leaders Ruby Removals in Division One as they notched seven in their 7-2 triumph over hosts Redhouse.

Chiseldon remained on the coat-tails of the top two as they found their scoring stride against struggling Haydon Wick.

James Lovell netted five in their 9-4 triumph, Jack Karpinski adding a brace as goals from Luke Mitchell and Sam Palmer wrapped up the points.

Fourth-placed North Swindon lost ground as they came out on the wrong end of a 2-1 scoreline against Village Inn, who moved up to eighth.

Kevin Murphy and Craig Kelly scored for the Inn, while Dwaine Dodson was North Swindon’s goalscorer.
