MELKSHAM TOWN chairman Darren Perrin says the club's pre-season's schedule reflects the progress they have made at the infiLED Arena.

The club have announced that Bristol Rovers are the latest side to pencil in a summer fixture, with Swindon Town, Chippenham Town and Hereford already set to visit the newly-promoted Southern League side.

Melksham open their pre-season with Hereford at home on Saturday, July 7 before Darrell Clarke will bring his first team to Wiltshire on Saturday, July 14, four days after Phil Brown's Swindon side make the short trip on Tuesday, July, 10 (7.45). Mark Collier's National League Bluebirds visit on Saturday, July 17.

"I've worked extremely hard to get the fixtures that we have got and we are so indebted as a football club to Hereford, Swindon Town, Bristol Rovers and Chippenham Town for agreeing to come and play at our facilities," said Perrin.

"The pitch will be in pristine condition. I think it speaks volumes for the football club in general that we are able to host these teams."

Manager Kieran Baggs also expressed his satisfaction over the schedule, which is not yet complete, as the club are due to announce another friendly early next week.

"If you take a look at our pre-season schedule, it's really exciting,'' he added.

"It's great for myself and players to go up against professional clubs but also a great opportunity for our supporters to come and watch local professional football players.

"We will also look to showcase our new signings during these games, so it's something not to be missed.

"All the credit goes to the chairman for organising and orchestrating these fixtures. We really do have some mouth-watering footballers to welcome to Melksham."
