YEAR 11 pupils from Hardenhuish School in Chippenham celebrated the end of an era as they dressed to impress in fancy frocks and smart suits at their prom.

More than 200 pupils and staff arrived at Grittleton House ready to dance the night away on Wednesday, June 27.

The evening kicked off with pupils arriving in style, heading down the driveway in all manner of vehicles, from vintage cars and a campervan, to a fire engine and a tandem bicycle, watched on by proud friends and family.

Celebrating the end of their GCSEs and all the hard work put in since starting high school, pupils were joined by staff.

They enjoyed a two-course meal on tables decorated in silver and purple, and everyone received a personalised sweet bag.

Pupils could get their photos taken in a photobooth and took part in a raffle where they could could win a Fitbit, and leisure, food and entertainment vouchers before either sitting out and enjoying the warm summer evening or dancing the night away at the disco.

Music from the charts as well as some old classics and dance numbers were played to get everyone on their feet.

Year 11 learning manager Amy Webb said: “The evening was a fantastic celebration of the pupils’ last five years at Hardenhuish.

“Everyone had a great evening and we are very proud of them all.”

Year 11 pastoral manager Lorraine Young added: “The teachers were also in the full swing and the pupils were absolutely brilliant. We are looking forward to congratulating them on well-deserved success on results day.”
