SWINDON Supermarine Development recorded an impressive 2-0 win over a strong Bakers Arms side in the Premier Division of the Swindon & District Sunday League.

Brendor Nkegbe and Cameron Shrubb got the goals for Tony Prinzi’s troops, marking their first win of the season.

“It was an interesting game because of the conditions weren’t the best with the rain,” said Prinzi.

“That didn’t make too much of a difference to be fair and we had the bare 11 because we didn’t have any substitutes which wasn’t great.

“Everything seemed to work on Saturday, the midfielders, strikers, defence and the goalkeeper, it was one of those games.

“They all did their bit, the goalkeeper made several decent saves and everyone was wondering where we got him from, hopefully now we can keep it up.”

Elsewhere,Stratton Juniors came away with the local bragging rights this weekend after beating Lower Stratton 4-1 away from home.

Two goals each from Charlie Gillett and Regan Lach was enough for Wheatsheaf Stratton to win 4-3 over Marlborough Town Reserves.

Ashton Keynes now lead the Premier Division after their 2-1 away win over Dorcan, Phillip Legace and Dean Wilson notching.

In Division One, a Kane Wheatley hat-trick fired Blunsdon to a 5-0 win at home to Ramsbury, their other goals came from Ben Hillerby and Lee Toomey.

Wroughton Reserves also hit five, they were 5-3 winners away at North Swindon WMC.

Jordan Lea bagged a brace, while Seth Palmer, Oliver Armstrong and Daryll Chambers topped up the score.

Chiseldon were able to edge past Highworth Town Development 3-2 thanks to a brace from James Lovell and a solo effort from Paulo Martins.

Swindon Centurians were no match for their hosts, Sportz Central, as they lost 9-1 to the home side.

Alisto Pires netted four times, in addition to two from Elloy Pereira and solitary efforts from Alonzo Cardoza, Gabriel Oguntuase and Valenco Pires.

In the bottom tier, Bassett Bulldogs and Cricklade Town Reserves couldn’t be separated as they drew 3-3.

Redhouse took top spot after their 3-1 win at home to Swindon AFC.

Moredon lost 1-0 to FC Abbeymeads, while Down Ampney won 2-1 at home to Spectrum.
