A SERIES of public exhibitions outlining plans for the future for the River Biss waterfront in Trowbridge have been organised.
The vision aims to provide a strategy to transform the river corridor to capitalise on the currently hidden waterfront and improve the investment potential and overall image of the town.
The consultation period for the River Biss Public Realm strategy will run from Saturday March 8 to Monday March 17.
The exhibitions will be an opportunity for the local community and civic groups to comment on the proposals.
Staff from West Wiltshire District Council and consultancy firm Halcrow will be available to answer questions and provide information.
The plans will be exhibited at the following locations:
The exhibition will also be on display at Trowbridge Library from Tuesday March 11-17 inclusive, during normal library opening hours.
The plans can also be accessed on the internet at www.transformingtrowbridge.org.uk
Adam Nardell, regeneration project manager for the district council, said: "The proposals are aimed at supporting the regeneration of Trowbridge.
"They look at increasing access to public spaces around the River Biss, in particular those that link to the wider town centre.
"As with all the projects we are taking on, we have ensured that this preserves the local distinctiveness and rich heritage of Trowbridge.
"We also believe that this scheme will help to reduce crime and anti-social behaviour in the town.
"The proposals follow on from the initial round of public consultations and we hope that as many people as possible will take the chance to help further inform the future regeneration of the River Biss area."
