Couple's wedding plans brought forward

WEDDING bells are ringing for a Trowbridge couple who beat off 96 others to triumph in our Win a Wedding competition.

Jackie Bradbrooke, of Ashleigh Close, and her fiance William Hartley, of Adcroft Street, both 34, have brought their big day forward after winning hundreds of pounds worth of wedding prizes at the Wiltshire Times' wedding fair, held at the Civic Hall on Sunday.

Couples entered the competition to win various prizes such as a two-course wedding breakfast at the Methuen Arms in Corsham, a wedding dress to the value of £500 and groom and best man suit hire from Brides by Victoria in Fore Street, Westbury.

Mr Hartley said he was amazed to have won.

He said: "I was really surprised. We were going to get married in 2010 but now it is going to be next year on June 30. All of the prizes are very good. Everything will help."

The couple met at Trowbridge College in 1990. They lost contact for a while but became friends again in 2002 and have not looked back.

On Sunday, 97 hopeful couples were whittled down to a final 12 and sponsors Brides by Victoria, The Barber Shop Trio in Calne and Contrast Hairdressing in Frome Road picked envelopes at random to decide the winning couple.

Other prizes the couple will receive include 10 bottles of champagne from Harley's Wine Bar in Stallard Street; £560 worth of beauty therapy from Advance Beauty Clinic and a two-tier wedding cake from Henleys Cakes of Distinction in Staverton.

Other prizes include wedding favours by online company Seventh Moon Wedding Design, wedding day make-up and trial by Beauty Boutique in Westbury, £300 worth of rings from Sipsons in Market Street, Trowbridge, bridal flowers up to £300 by Nestons Flowers, a pamper party by Pinkies in Trowbridge, a cut-throat shave for four by the Barber Shop Trio, photography and table centres by Mirage Entertainments and Mirage Digital, and £50 worth of stationary from Best Laid Plans in Market Street, Bradford on Avon.
