Frome find silver lining to cup exit

4:10pm Sunday 2nd November 2008

FROME Town boss Andy Crabtree has found a silver lining to his club’s recent FA Cup defeat by Team Bath.

Conference South outfit Team Bath, who needed a replay to beat Frome, have now loaned the Robins three of their players Lauris Coggin, Greg Lake and Alex Smith are all on a one-month loan deal at Badgers Hill, where Crabtree has been beset by injury problems.

Crabtree said: “I’ve spoken to Andy Tilson (Team Bath coach) on and off since we played them and he was quite happy to let them come to us with the football we played.”

Two wins in the past week have rekindled Frome’s Toolstation League Premier Division title hopes.

Crabtree said: “That’s two good performances against two difficult sides in a week.

“I’m very pleased with the way we bounced back after the Dawlish game.

“You’re going to have setbacks through a season and that was one.

“After that everyone was a bit flat and we’ve shown a bit of character to come back.”

“We’ve climbed up to seventh and no one’s even mentioned us, which takes some pressure off the players.

“The two results we’ve had are brilliant in the respect that we were minus six regulars.”
