BUDDING snapper Daniel Webb is delighted with the response to his latest exhibition.

Fourteen-year-old Daniel put on a show of his wildlife photographs at Swindon’s new library just before Christmas.

The Commonweal pupil started taking photos while on nature walks with his grandparents and now hopes one day to make a career of his artwork.

“I have been taking photos for around four years,” said Daniel, of Calvert Road, Walcot.

“I mainly take my pictures when I go out and about with my grandma and granddad.

“I like to take pictures of all sorts of things and over Christmas I was out and about and photographing all kinds of things.”

Daniel’s exhibition, on Friday, December 19, was a huge success and he hopes it will lead to more exhibitions and help him sell some pictures through his website.

“I’m hoping some of the people who came along will like my stuff and tell their friends about my work,” he said.

“It is more about getting my stuff recognised and I couldn’t sell anything at the exhibition, but am looking to sell some of my work.

“I had another exhibition on December 11 and a few people turned up for that.

“That show wasn’t really advertised, but this one was even better. It was very good, actually.”

Daniel, who is taking his GCSEs, said he has not planned any further exhibitions just yet, but is hoping to organise more in the future.

“When I was around 10 years old, I had no choice but to go out with my grandma and granddad.

“They were into birdwatching and wildlife at the time.

“They were teaching me all about birds for over four years and now after learning all the names I have now taken up photography, which was also passed on when I was with my grandad.

“Anne Snelgrove came to Commonweal and I photographed her.

“She has been really supportive and helped me with the exhibition.”
