SALISBURY’S Castle Street post office has been closed this afternoon after the company that runs it went into administration.
The office, along with two others in Weymouth and Dorchester, were temporarily closed after Counter Management Ltd ran up debts of £250,000.
It is understood the Post Office will be bringing in temporary management teams to run the branches, due to re-open tomorrow, and that existing staff will keep their jobs.
A spokesman for the post office said: "I can confirm that Salisbury Post Office branch closed temporarily this afternoon due to circumstances beyond our control.
"We are taking steps to reopen the branch as soon as possible and anticipate this happening tomorrow morning.
"In the meantime we would like to apologise to customers for any inconvenience."
