DINERS have swamped a restaurant after its owner put together an offer that brought him national attention.

James Huynh, of Oriental Aroma, in Wootton Bassett High Street, has recently been paying customers £1 to eat at his restaurant.

Now he is also giving away a free bottle of Beijing Gold Premium Beer and making a £2 donation to the Prospect Hospice for each table of diners.

The businessman thinks in these times of financial meltdown the offer will be a huge hit with customers and give his trade a boost.

He is confident that when the market does pick up business will boom.

Since launching the scheme his restaurant has featured in national newspapers, on TV and radio.

“I want people to know this is a genuine offer and not some kind of gimmick,” he said.

“I hope my customers will appreciate that I’m showing them support during a recession.

“I know people are being laid off work and spending their pennies wisely.

“This offer will get customers through the door. I hope to have between 300 to 400 on Sunday.

“My mother always said if you give a little without expectation then you will prosper – that is what I’m trying to do.

“I would also like other shops in Wootton Bassett to benefit from this with extra trade. It’s a chance for them.”

James has said business is already up 30 to 40 per cent during the week and he believes it is because of this offer.

This meal deal has not only attracted interest from Swindon but from all over the country.

The offer runs between 12.30pm and 6.30pm on Sunday, March 8. There are 140 Chinese dishes to choose from.

Each table can order five dishes at a time and keep ordering more once those meals are finished.
