IN THE Under 15 League Cup, Danny Western hit a brace as Fairford overcame Marlborough Town to book their place in the draw for the next round.

After the venue was switched to avoid a waterlogged pitch, Fairford Youth took the lead with a goal from Western. The second half saw goals from Luke Jowett, Nathan Godwin and a second for Western, giving Fairford a comfortable 4-0 win.

Under 13 League Cup Swindon Rangers charged through to the next round of the cup with a 12-1 win over Ramsbury. Rangers went ahead within a couple of minutes, but Ramsbury pulled back level soon after. Rangers then took control and went on to take a 5-1 lead at half time, adding seven more in the second half.

Jack Steed and Charley Gillett continued their scoring run, with Steed getting his second double hat-trick in two weeks, and Gillett netting a hat-trick too. Alex Fenton, Ollie Hunt and Charlie Cuss also scored.

Under 10 League Cup Cirencester Town A reached the next round with a 6-1 victory over a battling Wootton Bassett Town B side, with three goals in each half from Orly Giannini (2), Joe Wych, Sam Brewster, Oliver Rejek and Finn Pannell.

The game was an excellent advert for mini soccer with Bassett’s goal a screamer from Declan Cox.

Under 9 League Cup Swindon Rangers progressed with a resounding away win against Wootton Bassett Town A. Rangers took an early lead from a Charlie Lawrence deflected effort.

The team built on the good start with Lawrence scoring three more times. Cam Liffen and Daniel Hopper both capped excellent performances with a goal each.

Joe Tyson hit another hat-trick as he kept up his goal-scoring run and Kyle Spackman sealed the performance with the final goal of the game from the edge of the box.

Under 16 Division Two A great team effort saw Greenmeadow A go 4-0 up at half time against Marlborough Town, thanks to goals from Joe Webb (2), Jordan Hall and Chris Jones.

A spirited fightback by Marlborough in the second half saw them score before Greenmeadow grabbed their final goal froma Joe Webb corner. Marlborough scored again before the end, but Greenmeadow secured the win.

Croft Juniors B continued their fine start to the season with a win over Pewsey Vale, with goals from Josh Morse, Lewis Petrie and a hat-trick from David Miller.

Under 12 Division One In a closely contested first half, Highworth Town Juniors H and Lydiard Youth A both battled hard for possession.

Two defensive errors cost Highworth as Alex Dinsmore struck twice, and they found themselves 2-0 down at half time.

The second half was again a hard-fought battle but Lydiard got a third when Dinsmore completed another hat-trick, before Highworth responded with a simple finish from the hard-working Sam Downs.

FC Abbeymeads completed the double over Lydiard Youth B with a 4-0 victory. Abbeymeads had to work hard for the victory, against both a skilful and determined Lydiard side as well as the blustery conditions.

Lewis Newman and Jake O’Neill both netted in the first six minutes to give Abbeymeads a 2-0 lead at half-time, and in a closely-contested second half, both added another goal apiece to seal the win.

Under 12 Division Two Coleview Juniors beat Ramsbury 5-4 even though they played with only nine players, every one of whom played their part in a great win.

The Coleview scorers were Harvey Ritchie (2), Will Clarke, Cameron Sadler and Daniel Harry, with a superb free kick.

Under 12 Division Three A very open and evenly-contested first half saw Greenmeadow D open up a 2-0 lead against Pinehurst Rangers.

Pinehurst then pulled a goal back and had a penalty saved by Greenmeadow’s Steven Mapstone before the break.

The second half was just as pulsating, with Pinehurst scoring two early goals to go 3-2 ahead, before Greenmeadow then hit back with three more goals.

A Daryl Mapstone hat-trick and two goals from Prince Pilime contributed to the Greenmeadow scoresheet, whilst Connor Middleton got two for Pinehurst and Matthew Barr scored the other.

Under 11 Division Three Highworth Town Juniors T returned to league action and winning ways with a 3-1 victory over Chiseldon in an entertaining match.

On target for Highworth was Jason Budworth, who bagged a brace. Toby Ferrison also found the net.

Chiseldon's goal came about when Scott Perrett won and converted a penalty., but it ultimately only proved a consolation.

Under 11 Division Four Brinkworth Cats came away with the points against Shaw B, after five goals in the first half and three in the second.

On the scoresheet for Cats were Matt Donley, Ryan Collins, Sam Garlick and Thomas Clifford, scoring his first ever goal for the club, together with two unfortunate own goals.

Finding the net for Shaw were Cameron Bouell, Kemal Omur (2) and Joshua Price.

Under 10 Division Three Ferndale Rodbourne earned a 3-3 draw against a determined Purton Youth B side after a late goal from Callum Ratcliffe. Ferndale's other two goals came from Harry Kearns.

Under 9 Division One STRATTON Juniors A secured a win over Greenmeadow in the last few minutes, after goals from Ryan Harris (2), Oliver Burt, Jared Hayward and Nathan Rivers.

Under 9 Division Two Lambourn Sports remain unbeaten after a hard-fought local derby win against Hungerford Town.

Hungerford’s stubborn resistance was finally broken down following a corner from Bradley Skeats that hit the post, before Declan Rackham finished a goal-mouth scramble.

Hungerford then hit the crossbar and Lambourn broke away with Harley Brizell scoring a great solo goal.

Lambourn came out of the blocks quickly after the break and Luke Plumb scored a quick-fire hat-trick, with three well-taken goals. Ali Thorpe scored a consolation for Hungerford, before Rackham wrapped up another impressive win for Lambourn.

Under 9 Division Three Swindon Rangers hit the post several times in a good game against Broad Town, and still ended up with a 3-1 win to keep them on top of the table. Rangers’ goals came from Ethan Hughes, Callum Marson and Cameron Potter.

A first half strike from Max Morland ensured victory for Highworth Town Juniors T against a committed Penhill Knights team.

Under 9 Division Four Shrivenham & watchfield were comfortable 6-1 winners over Malrborough Town Youth, triumphing 6-1. Ryan Sutton scored a double hat-trick as he notched up 18 goals for the season.
