No more snow for Swindon, says Met Office

8:53am Tuesday 9th February 2010

DESPITE the snow showers yesterday, the forecast for Swindon predicts little to no more snow for the town.

Concerns that the town would be once again steeped in inches of snow seemed ill founded as the Met Office has said that only slight snow is predicted for Swindon on Friday night this week. Apart from the occasional cloudy day, the weather will actually be bright, and warmer than the last few weeks.

Many people were concerned that the poor weather had made a return after snow fell yesterday.

Adam Beckett, who runs an outdoor events company in Stratton, said: “I thought ‘here we go again’ but luckily it seemed to ease off. I could not bear for it to be that bad again – we lost a lot of money those couple of weeks.

“I think people in Swindon are living in fear that it might happen again.”

The highest temperature can be expected to be around four degrees and that will be on Thursday.
