A drug addict caught with class A drugs he was planning to supply has been warned he faces a lengthy jail term.

Christopher Mounty, 27, was remanded in custody after changing his plea at Swindon Crown Court on Tuesday to admit charges of possessing class A drugs, cocaine and heroin, with intent to supply.

Judge William Hart remanded Mounty into custody, saying he feared he would not attend for sentence because of his chaotic life.

Mounty, formerly of Bramley Lane, Trowbridge, was arrested on June 22 because he was a known user and was found to have the drugs.

Alex Daymond, defending, asked for his client to be allowed bail while a pre-sentence report was prepared, so he could put his affairs in order before the likely jail term.

He said Mounty had failed to turn up for the previous court hearings because he had moved recently and was unaware they were taking place.

But the judge remanded him in custody, saying his lifestyle and the likely sentence meant he feared he would not turn up.
