Devizes care centre faces objection

Devizes Town Council is objecting to the proposed Primary Care Centre and retirement village on land next to Quakers Walk.

The council’s planning committee met on Tuesday night and was concerned about the impact it will have on traffic in London Road, which is already congested, and the low number of parking spaces planned for the Primary Care Centre.

Tony Sedgwick, traffic advisor to The Trust for Devizes, told the meeting that the centre should have 250 parking spaces instead of the 66 planned.

Roundway Parish Council, which met on Monday night, also expressed concern about the impact of the development on traffic and parking but deferred making a decision until it received more information.

250 spaces? Why doesn't Mr Sedgewwick do something to persuade people to walk or use the bus bu oh now, the Guardians don't beleive in that. Have you ever seen a member of the Devizes Guardians at a bus stop? I see a Labout ex Mayor sometimes and I used to see another one too but that's about it.

It doesn't matter anyway as the NHS people will do what they want and won't listen to anyone who disagrees with them.
