Football fans in Calne have been given the chance to improve their skills thanks to a new course introduced at the leisure centre.
Since February, the centre has been running a Football Skills course after receiving funding from Wiltshire Council through the sports development officer, Alex Muse.
Youngsters between the ages of eight to 12 have been taking part in the course.
Senior recreation assistant Graham Dean said: “We saw this as an opportunity to be an after school activity.”
The leisure centre also received sponsorship from Travelwise, a travel agent in Devizes.
Mr Dean added: “With the help from both of these companies we were able to acquire new staff uniform, equipment and advertising for the course.
“The course has been very successful throughout the four weeks so far – we have 11 children booked on who have thoroughly enjoyed it.”
Anyone interested in enrolling for the next course on April 20 can do so from March 23.
The course costs £18 for newcomers.
