Major incident room opened in Van Lill case

Police have established a major incident room for the search for Donavan van Lill, who has been missing for more than two weeks.

A team of 40 officers are now dedicated to the investigation, which is being dealt with as a suspicious missing person enquiry and will continue to be seen as such until any criminality is confirmed or disproved.

Detective Superintendent Norman McKeaveney, has been appointed as the senior investigating officer.

He said: “ I have to consider a number of possibilities which may explain Donovan’s disappearance, and at this stage of the enquiry I have an open mind, whereby nothing is ruled out of consideration.

"Donovan’s disappearance will necessitate a methodical, but detailed, investigation.”

The 29-year-old disappeared from his home in Blackthorn Mews, Pewsham, on Wednesday, March 3, and has not been in contact with his friends or family since.

Further police enquiries were carried out yesterday, but no new information has been received which may lead officers to his whereabouts.

A police spokesman said: "There will be noticeable police activity in various areas of Chippenham throughout today, with house to house enquiries being conducted, interviews of key witnesses and friends being carried out, and background enquiries with Donovan’s friends and acquaintances
