Trowbridge stage school celebrates anniversary

A Trowbridge stage school will celebrate its first anniversary in May.

Frederica Dunstan, 27, from Devizes, bought the Stagecoach franchise for the Trowbridge area a year ago, and now has 75 students at the school, which runs part time from a purpose-built site at Clarendon College in Frome Road.

She said: “As well as preparing for a future career, the training students receive on Saturdays is beneficial to children wanting to gain confidence, poise and communication skills.”

Youngsters aged between four and 18 attend the school and several have been selected to perform at Her Majesty’s Theatre in London’s West End later this year. Others have had the chance to audition professionally through the school.

Over Easter it will also be running a workshop for six to 17-year-olds, where they can experience casting, rehearsing and performing while working with directors, culminating in a show.

The workshops are open to non-Stagecoach students.
