A WILTSHIRE man has been charged with the murder of a personal trainer who disappeared more than two weeks ago, police said last night.

Fitness instructor Donavan Van Lill, 29 - who also plays for Corsham Rugby Club - had failed to meet with any of his pre-booked clients.

Friends said the disappearance of the South African, who had been living in Chippenham, was out of character.

Martin Sugden, 41, from Stanton, near Chippenham, and who was arrested on Friday, has now been charged with murder, the county force said.

Sugden will appear before North Wiltshire magistrates today.

Some 15,000 people joined a Facebook site appealing for information about Mr Van Lill, who was last seen at his home address on March 3.

Last week players from Bath Rugby Club backed an appeal for help in finding him.

A major incident room was set up at Melksham Police Station and 40 officers are working on the investigation.
