SWINDON Rangers A clinched the Under 9 Division One title thanks to a thumping 14-1 win over Greenmeadow Youth on Sunday.

Winger Dan Hopper stole the show with a double hat-trick for the unbeaten side, who scored eight times in the first half.

Joe Tyson chipped in with a five-goal haul, while the trio of Rangers midfielders Charlie Lawrence, Cam Liffen and Dan Reynolds also got on the score sheet with some impressive finishes.

Elsewhere in the division, Dan Skinner’s strike sent Croft Juniors into half-time one up against Ferndale Rodbourne despite some good defending from Brandon Kandola-Conaghan.

And they came out strongly after the restart, scoring twice more through Tom Phillip and Skinner again, before Ferndale’s Josh Dixon pulled one back as the game finished 3-1.

Under 9 Division Two

CALNE FC were 4-2 winners over Cirencester Town in an entertaining, high-tempo game.

William Boakes hit a hat-trick and Byron Lucas was also on target for the hosts, with Ryan Devine and Luke Tuckwell replying for Ciren.

It was a goal fest from FC Abbeymeads A as they hammered Shaw 7-0 away from home, with Harry Smith (2), Nathan Prothero (2), Aaron Prothero, Lewis Basten and Luke Ellis all scoring.

Under 9 Division Three

Wootton Bassett Town A came from behind to beat Wroughton 3-1.

An early goal gave Wroughton the lead but Harrison Gough’s double, including one from the spot, and a third from Cameron Bell gave the visitors the points.

Under 10 Division One

CIRENCESTER Town bounced back from their first league defeat last weekend with an 8-0 win against Purton.

The goals came from hat-trick hero Sam Brewster, Oli Rejek (2), Finn Pannell (2) and James Thomas.

Under 10 Division Two

IT was honours even between Wootton Bassett Town A and Wroughton Juniors in a 2-2 draw.

Bassett twice took the lead with goals from Euan Burke and Tyler Fitchett, only for Wroughton’s Jack Hargreaves to level each time in a match that neither side deserved to lose.

Lydiard Youth played some very good football against a determined Old Town United side. Charlie Emmerson scored four goals with Daniel Hulse and Sam Murby adding a goal each.

Highworth Town Juniors H were 6-1 winners over local rivals Shrivenham & Watchfield, thanks to four goals from Josh Windsor and a Adam Robbins double. Shrivvy pulled one back but it was too little too late.

Under 10 Division Three

A DETERMINED display from Ferndale Rodbourne gave them a 3-1 win over Greenmeadow Youth, to end Greenmeadow’s season-long winning league run.

Goals from Ryan Howells and Lewis Dobedoe gave Ferndale a 2-1 half-time lead, with Oliver Matthews scoring for Greenmeadow.

Some fine saves from Ferndale keeper William Close kept Greenmeadow at bay, before a goal from Harry Kearns sealed the win.

Wootton Bassett Town B kept their first clean sheet of the season as they beat a resolute Lambourn Sports team, with first half goals from Declan Coffey and George Staten.

Wanborough had a narrow 2-1 win against Ramsbury - Toby Berwick scoring both goals.

Under 10 Division Four

JOSH Baker scored a brilliant hat-trick as Chiseldon beat Highworth Town Juniors T 3-0.

Under 11 Division One

GREENMEADOW overcame a determined Wickham Wanderers side 4-0 to remain top of the league.

First half goals from Jordan Smith and Matthew Penella-Lach were followed by goals from Miles Jolliffe and Smith’s second after the break.

Under 11 Division Two

WANBOROUGH gave league leaders Ferndale Rodbourne B a scare, going in 2-0 ahead at half-time thanks to strikes from Tom Head and James Biggs.

Ferndale hit back in the second period though and were forced to work hard for their win, running out 5-2 victors.

A tight match between Croft Juniors and Ramsbury ended in deadlock after Croft snatched a dramatic last minute equaliser.

Ramsbury shaded the first half thanks to a goal just before the break from George Lance, and they defended their lead well in the second half as Croft dominated.

And that pressure was rewarded when Scott Hartley popped up to net the late leveller in a goalmouth scramble.

Under 11 Division Three

ONE goal was enough to separate Penhill Allstars and Liden Community B, with a special 25-yard strike from Katrina Reynolds clinching the win for Liden six minutes from time.

Shrivenham & Watchfield earned the point they needed to capture the league title with a deserved draw against a spirited Chiseldon side.

The Royals took the lead in the first half when Nick Moore slotted home, although Chiseldon soon levelled things up.

Shrivvy poured forward chasing a winner after the restart but were thwarted by some last ditch defending and good goalkeeping. The point, however, was enough to capture the championship for the second time in three years.

Under 12 Division One

FC ABBEYMEADS extended their unbeaten league run to 16 matches with a 14-0 demolition of Wanborough. Lewis Newman bagged seven goals and Jake O’Neill scored a hat-trick, with a brace for Aiden Millar, and fine strikes from Bradley Houghton and Tyler Johnson completing the scoring.

Under 12 Division Two

HIGHWORTH Town Juniors T edged a seven-goal thriller against Stratton Youth.

Two early goals put Highworth in control before their opponents halved the deficit before the break.

Stratton applied heavy pressure in the second half and levelled the match from the penalty spot just before going ahead.

Reece Snowdon fired in from 25 yards to equalise for Highworth, and with the match seemingly destined to end in a draw, Sam Cheesley poked home with seconds remaining.

Cricklade Youth recorded their first win in 2010 as they came away from local rivals Purton with a 2-0 victory.

Gary McDonald gave Cricklade a dream start when he broke the deadlock, and they went two up after pressure from McDonald forced an own goal.

Purton put Cricklade under considerable pressure in the second half, but the defence, led by man of the match Joe Lewis, held firm to record their first clean sheet of the season.

Coleview Juniors came from two down to win 5-2 against Ramsbury Juniors.

Second half goals from Cameron Sadler (2), Jake Adlem (2) and Mickey Kachika sealed a fantastic win.

Under 12 Division Three

BLUNSDON Colts went into the break 2-0 up against Greenmeadow P, after goals from Billy Gibbs and Daniel Milne.

But Greenmeadow hit back soon after the start of the second half through James Wood and got back on level terms thanks to Jack Vertannes.

As the clock ticked down, Olli Frost broke clear to slot home a third goal for Greenmeadow and they held on to claim a 3-2 win.

There was an entertaining game between Brinkworth Cats B and South Swindon, with Reese Elliott equalising for South Swindon late on.

Under 13 Division Two

SHRIVENHAM & Watchfield took the game to Croft Juniors, playing some good football to deservedly go in two up at half-time.

But Croft came out as a different side and quick goals from James Sims and Josh Ayres made it all square, before two Joe Staddon strikes put the result beyond any doubt in Croft’s favour.

Under 13 Division Three IN a close game Old Town United missed a penalty early on and Chippenham Town took full advantage to take a 2-0 half-time lead.

Old Town put in a good performance but found themselves three down as they chased the game, before strikes from Bradley Keene and Donal Mann made it a close finish, with Chippenham hanging on to win 3-2.

Under 14 Division Four

SHAW B took the lead in the first half but went into the break level, following Shanan Ward’s equaliser for Croft Juniors B.

A powerful long range effort from Liam Flanagan with eight minutes remaining secured the victory for Croft.

Under 16 Division Two

FOR the third week running Croft Juniors B hit double figures, this time against Old Town United B.

It was a fine performance, resulting in hat-tricks for David Miller, Josh Morse and Lewis Petrie, with Craig Loxton also on target in a 10-1 win

Under 13 League Cup

CIRENCESTER Town Under 13s secured their place in the League Cup final with a late victory over Calne FC.

Jake Taylor put Calne in front and that looked like being enough to earn a semi-final win but with time running out Ciren equalised.

And as the tie seemed set for extra-time, Calne conceded a last-minute penalty, which Cirencester converted.

Under 16 League Cup

MIKEY Ranger scored AFC Barbury’s consolation as they went out of the League Cup with a 4-1 defeat against Chippenham in an entertaining contest.
