FC ABBEYMEADS produced a stunning second-half fightback in Division Two of the Under 14 North Wilts Youth and Minor League as they came from behind to pick up all three points away at Eldene Rangers.

Eldene made a good start to the contest as they looked well-organised and firmly took control. They were rewarded with an early goal from Ashley Quelch, and Nathan Crittle netted before half-time to double the advantage.

But Abbeymeads turned up the pressure after the break and scored three times to register a 3-2 win over their rivals.

In Division Four, Penhill Allstars beat Northern Lights S 4-1. Penhill raced into a two-goal lead before Zac Irving pulled one back with a fine finish for Northern Lights.

The second half saw both sides get chances, but Penhill scored two late goals to clinch the victory.

A Will Hooton goal two minutes from the end secured a 2-1 win for Wanborough Juniors against Malmesbury Youth in a tightly fought game.

Under 18 Division Two

Wroughton ran out 6-2 winners in a highly competitive game against Wootton Bassett Town C, and were four up by half-time thanks to Henry Finnegan, Dave Southby, Olly Armstrong and Louis Woollen. Bassett came out with a great spirit in the second half and pulled two back, but Maher Ali and Scott Curry were also on target for Wroughton to put the result beyond any doubt.

Under 16 Division One

IT was honours even between AFC Barbury and Tetbury Town in a 1-1 draw, with Jack Windell scoring for Barbury.

Under 16 Division Two

BATTLING Croft Juniors clinched a 3-0 win over Pewsey Vale thanks to goals from Josh Morse (2) and Lewis Petrie.

Under 15 Division Two

RYAN Beachamp broke the deadlock between Greenmeadow B and Fairford Town with a 20-yard scorcher, which was followed by a Lee Toomey goal to give Greenmeadow a 2-0 victory. The match between Shaw B and Purton produced four goals with Purton coming out on top after goals from Jack Duffy, James Reid and Dequan Barrow.

Under 15 Division Three

LEADERS Highworth Town Juniors T were made to work hard for their 4-2 victory at home to Wanborough, after Jonny Leighfield gave the visitors an early lead. Three goals either side of the break put Highworth in front, but another Leighfield strike brought Wanborough back into the game, before Highworth sealed their win.

Under 12 Division One

HIGHWORTH Town Juniors H continued their recent run of good form with a comfortable 8-1 win against Eldene Rangers. The goals came from Reece Cobb (2), Harry Mills (2), Jack Brooker (2), Liam Hallaways and Dan Wheeler.

Under 12 Division Two

BRINKWORTH Cats A maintained their 100 per cent record but were forced to work hard for their 4-0 win over Old Town United. The game was goalless at half-time but an early second half strike from Jack Skyrme put Cats ahead and then they completed the victory with further goals from Danny Wykes and one from Nathan Grom.

Under 12 Division Three

CLASH of the Greenmeadows was won by the P team as they saw off their own D team with a 6-1 victory. Greenmeadow D took a deserved early lead through Steven Mapstone, but James Webb immediately levelled with a lob from distance for P.

Webb netted again shortly after and the P team ended the half with a two-goal cushion after Ollie Frost slotted the ball home.

After the break the P team scored via Billy McKeown and an own goal before Webb finally completed the scoring in a game that was closer than the final score would suggest. Blunsdon Colts edged a close game against Wroughton Youth, with Billy Gibbs’ fine strike proving the difference between the sides.

Highworth Town Juniors J were 5-2 winners away at Pinehurst Rangers, with Connor Middleton grabbing Pinehurst’s goals. South Swindon hit Croft Juniors for six at the weekend, with Jordan Remmer (2), Reece Elliott, Tom Parker, Harvey Micheal and Jack Ahrens all on target.

Under 11 Division One

GREENMEADOW took an early lead through Matthew Penella-Lach, with Liden Community equalising to make it 1-1 at the break. Liden took the lead in the second period before Miles Jolliffe levelled for Greenmeadow late on.

Under 11 Division Two

CROFT Juniors secured all the points at home to Ferndale Rodbourne A thanks to three first half goals in a keenly-contested match. Joseph Kirby set them on their way and Scott Hartley doubled the tally soon after, before Jay Chagger headed in to wrap it up.

Under 11 Division Three

HIGHWORTH Town Juniors T ended their recent run of defeats with a 3-1 victory against Greenmeadow, thanks to goals from Will Lewis, Russell McNally and Jason Budworth. Chiseldon lost by the odd goal in nine in an end-to-end match away at Stratton Youth. Despite Chiseldon taking the lead on more than one ocassion through Jack Karpinski and a Owen Cheesley hat-trick, Stratton ran out 5-4 winners.

Under 11 Division Four

CIRENCESTER Town G were 3-0 winners over Penhill Knights following two first half goals which set them on their way. However, Penhill did not give up hope and were nearly rewarded for their efforts when a shot from Mitchell Pike rebounded off the inside of the post and rolled across the goal before Ciren cleared the danger. Under 10 Division one OLI Rejek grabbed a hat-trick as Cirencester Town A defeated Malmesbury 8-0. Also on target were Sam Brewster (2), James Thomas (2) and Finn Pannell.

Under 10 Division Two

WOOTTON Bassett Town A lost 2-1 against Calne Town, with Euan Burke scoring for Bassett. Calne throughly deserved their win, with their keeper having an outstanding game. Wroughton Youth A extended their unbeaten run with a 6-0 win over Old Town United, and their goals came from Rhyls Burton, Brandon Duddy, Riegan Cook, Jack Hargreaves, Alistair Moxham and Ben Hunter.

Under 10 Division Three

DESPITE goals from Declan Cox and Matthew Nicholls, Wootton Bassett Town B went down 4-2 away to Blunsdon Colts B. Highworth Town Juniors J ran out winners 5-0 over Penhill Allstars, with two goals from Christian Durrant-Williams and a hat-trick from Matthew Starling.

Under 10 Division Four

ALTHOUGH they went in to half-time one up, Chiseldon lost 6-2 to South Cerney. The goals for Chiseldon were scored by Max Pocock and Rafael Torresgrosa-Jones.

Under 9 Division One

An entertaining game of football between two teams at the top end of the table saw Stratton Youth run out 5-3 winners against Lydiard Youth. Lydiard stormed into a deserved 2-0 lead before conceding a penalty just before half time. Stratton battled well and scored another penalty plus a couple more goals to earn the points as Lydiard heads dropped, in spite of James Biles’ hat-trick. It was a hard-fought game between Croft Juniors and Highworth Town Juniors H. Croft started well but could not convert their chances and Highworth then scored on the break. In the second half Croft battled to create chances and got their reward with three goals, scored by Daniel Skinner, Tom Phillips and Harry Timbrell.

Under 9 Division Two

WANBOROUGH were on the wrong end of a 7-0 scoreline as they went down to a heavy defeat away at Calne. The visitors never stopped competing and were unlucky not to score themselves, and Calne’s goals came from Isaac Smith, Archie Green, Adam Richards, Byron Lucas and Zak Soonsup-Bell. Lambourn Sports were 3-1 winners over Ramsbury Juniors and went ahead through Howard Hughes. Although the scores were levelled, Lambourn finally got back in front in the second half when Kieran Ratcliffe’s shot smacked the underside of the bar and bounced over the line.

Under 9 Division Three

RYAN Jones’ first goal for Highworth Town Juniors T, a well-taken header, was not enough to prevent his team from losing to FC Abbeymeads B. Abbeymeads made the most of some first half defensive errors to record a 3-1 victory.

SWINDON Rangers secured their fourth consecutive league title with a 3-0 win away at Greenmeadow B in Under 13 Division Two.

After a spell of pressure, Alex Fenton broke the deadlock with just minutes of the first half remaining, while after the break a fine individual goal from Ollie Hunt and a Ben Holley close range effort made sure of the points.

Croft Juniors and AFC Barbury went for it right from the start, with Croft scoring the winner with three minutes left through Ollie Wise. Croft had taken a half-time lead through Alex Bell, before Barbury equalised at the beginning of the second half.

Four goals from Corey Cullen, including a second half hat-trick, helped Blunsdon Colts to a 5-3 home win over Shaw in Under 13 Division Three.

Cullen gave Blunsdon the lead before the break, and they went further ahead through Tom Watts after the restart. Shaw responded through Luke Archer, before Cullen stole the show with his second half treble, but the visitors never gave up and Kevin Ntim scored twice in the dying minutes to complete the scoring for Shaw.
