Neighbours held a street party in Melksham and raised £1,500 for a charity which helps people with life threatening diseases.
The party in Willow Close was the idea of resident Katie Chappell, 25, who held a similar event two years ago.
Visitors enjoyed a barbecue, raffle, bouncy castle, crazy golf and other fun activities from 1pm until Saturday evening, .
Miss Chappell said: “It went as well as it could do.
“We raised three times the amount from last time, which from the same event we’re really pleased with.
“When we counted it up we couldn’t believe it. It’s down to the generosity of the families and friends. I’d like to thank all the households and everybody who came and helped with the event.”
The party was in aid of fly2help, an aviation charity which gives chronically and terminally ill people the experience of a lifetime.
Mandy Pantell, marketing and fundraising director for fly2help said it was phenomenal that neighbours in one close found enough community spirit to raise £1,505.
“It’s just amazing and I’m absolutely flabbergasted by the amount,” she said.
“I have to say how grateful we are as a charity to Katie and her whole team.
“There was so much laughter, everyone there was smiling and it was so heartwarming.”
