IN the Swindon Sunday League Chairman’s Trophy, cup holders AFC Cricklade hit an unbelievable 25 goals past luckless Rug Shack.

On target were Richard Hadgkiss with four on his 41st birthday, Matt Richards with five, Dougie Rankin (3), Lee Bowen (3), John Davoile (3), Dean Wilson (3), Dan Dodson (2) and Devon McCalla (2).

Stratton Saints beat Cartus 4-2 as an Adam Wilkins hat-trick and a Jamie Saunders brace were enough for the Saints. Cartus’ goals both came from Ryan Wheeler.

Inter Sandgate saw off GW Nalgo 5-2. Richard Crocker bagged three for Sandgate, whilst Jake Page and Gareth Hutchins also got on the scoresheet.

FC Walcot eased past Shield & Dagger 4-2, with Jason Cobb (2), Ashley Wallace and Jermaine Spellman on target for the hosts.

AC Swindon edged their game against Tawney Owl 3-2 as Tawney’s Craig Clements-Cook and Shaun Baxter scored in vain.

Intermach Wheatsheaf lost out 4-2 at home to Rat Trap, with Wheatsheaf’s Will Smith and Martin Pritchard finding the back of the net.

Campbell James beat Dynamo Ashton 2-0, Mark Peters getting both for the home side.

Queensfield’s 16-year-old star Jordan Hall bagged a brace and helped ease his side into the next round courtesy of a 4-2 victory over Jesters. Callum Babcock and Shane Brennan got the other goals for Queenie.

In the Knockout Cup, Thamesdown progressed with a 4-2 win over Nythe. Scorers for the victors were Nigel Baker (2) and Alan Hellewell (2), while Adam West got a brace for Nythe.

In Division One, Jobsinswindon sneaked past AFC Gas 5-3 thanks to an Alex Harper hat-trick and further strikes from Martin Worthington and Taz Adams.

McLean Heating were beaten 3-2 at home by CK Scaffolds in Division Two. McLean’s scorers were Jamie McLaughlin and James Hogg, while Johnny Stokes (2) and Tye Beardman got the all-important goals for CK.

The Dolphin saw off New Century by the odd goal in seven. Century’s scorers were Matt Pratley (2) and Lee Stoddard, but Dolphin hung on for their 4-3 success.

In Division Three, Village Inn suffered a 2-1 home reverse to Cats Solutions, for whom Ryan Keech and Callum Woollen found the net. Ryan Phillips got the Village Inn goal.

Westbrook hammered Smart Movers 11-2 in Division Four thanks to scorers James Joyce (3), Matt Hollinshead (2), Craig Roberts (2), Chris Peaple, John Horgan, John Humphries and Rich Wells.

Alex Sherriffs, Chris Cummins and Mark Wells netted in West Swindon’s 5-3 defeat to Halcrow, while Joe Simmons and Craig Endicott were on the scoresheet for Boundary House in their 6-2 loss to Fox & Hounds.

In Division Five, a goal from Gareth Morris could not prevent Patheon going down 2-1 to Swindon City, while in Division Seven Globe crushed West Swindon 10-3.

Kelvin Spencer (4), Sam Ferris (3), Terry Offer, Carl Pike and Stuart Hemsley got the goals.
