Allan Clarke was candid in his response to his side’s defeat to Cricklade Town on Saturday blaming both “lack of fitness and a lack of desire” for his team’s capitulation Trowbridge, who found themselves 4-2 up, through goals by Ross Parker, Jamie Croydon, and two from star man Paul Gittens, allowed the home side to seize the initiative, conceding four goals in a frantic 20 minutes.
Manager Clarke said: “There were a lot of positives to take from the game, but in the end we just ran out of steam.’’
Next up tomorrow is a home tie at Woodmarsh against Hellenic Premier League leaders Slimbridge AFC in the Challenge Cup.
