BUDDING fashionistas will have a new hotspot in the town from tomorrow as the first stage of The Parade redevelopment opens to the public.

The new 9,700sq ft Topshop and Topman store will be the first retail unit to officially open in the redeveloped former BHS store.

After 11 months of refurbishment, the seven new units, which were previously home to Bhs, will welcome its first resident making the move across from The Brunel.

Spring 2011 will see the next two stores opening – BHS returning to the unit and River Island moving from across the road.

Brian Morris, the manager of The Parade shopping centre, said: “We’re very excited about the opening of Topshop and Topman in the redeveloped units in The Parade.

“These stores complement the existing collection of fashion outlets already in the shopping centre and will be sure to create a buzz.

“The redevelopment of the former BHS store has been much anticipated around the town and the new, improved stores, together with the modern design of the building, will help make Swindon a great shopping destination.”

There will also be a selection of great offers and competitions available on the opening day.

Topman will be handing out gift vouchers in the town, which will be loaded with surprise amounts up to £100.

Pop cakes – a cross between a lollipop and a cupcake – and refreshments will be available on Thursday in Topshop and on December 3 and 4 Topshop will also be giving customers the chance to style themselves and take home a reminder, thanks to a a pop-up photo booth in store.

The new Topshop and Topman store will be open from 9am until 6pm Friday to Wednesday and 9am until 8pm on Thursdays.
