Warminster police are carrying out extensive inquiries in the search for a Warminster man who has not been seen since last Wednesday.

Officers are concerned for the welfare of 32-year-old Paul Shuttlewood who went missing from Ash Walk, where he lives with his parents. He was last seen by his family at home on Wednesday.

Police have been trying to locate Mr Shuttlewood over the weekend and have been carrying out searches in the Warminster area and also in locations he is known to be fond of including Westbury White Horse and Shearwater.

It is understood that he has not taken any money, clothing or a phone with him and it is believed that he may be somewhere local as he has no access to a vehicle.

Mr Shuttlewood is described as white, 5ft9ins and of medium build with short brown hair. He was last seen wearing brown shoes, dark jeans, a brown coat and carrying a grey rucksack.

Information leaflets including a photo of Mr Shuttlewood have been handed out across the area an details passed to local firms and taxi companies. Other area he has previously frequented include Salisbury Plain, Elm Hill Golf Course, Cold Habour Lane and the Wessex Ridgeway. Sergeant Russell Griffin of Warminster Police said: "Whilst Paul does like to be on his own, it is unusual for him to go missing for this length of time.

"A number of inquiries have been on-going including searches of local areas that Paul is fond of including The Ridgeway running between Warminster and Westbury.

"Both we and his family are concerned for his welfare and we are appealing for him or anyone who may have seen him to get in touch.

"If Paul doesn’t want to let his family know where he is then we will respect that, but he does need to contact us to let us know he is safe and well."

Anyone with any information about Mr Shuttlewood’s whereabouts or who may have seen someone matching his description, is asked to call Wiltshire Police on 0845 408 7000 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
