A man is to face trial by judge and jury accused of carrying out a robbery and assaulting another youth.

Leo Scarth, of Canon Square, Melksham, pleaded not guilty to the two charges when he appeared before a judge at Swindon Crown Court on Friday.

The 24-year-old is said to have committed both offences in Chippenham on July 2, last year.

Scarth pleaded not guilty to charges of robbery and common assault.

Recorder Leslie Blohm QC adjourned the case until March 5, and released him on bail on condition he does not contact prosecution witnesses.

Why is he released on bail instead of being held in prison? No space I suppose!
