TOOLSTATION LEAGUE PREMIER DIVISION: Boss Rawlings aiming to build on priceless Corsham triumph

CORSHAM Town have their sights set on keeping afloat with another three points this weekend after moving off the bottom of the Toolstation League Premier Division with victory over Bridport last Saturday.

Liam Brown put Trevor Rawlings’ side ahead before full-back Sam Pring doubled Corsham’s lead with a long-range effort that bounced off the crossbar and the opposition goalie’s head before finding its way into the net.

The victory saw Town move up to 16th in the table and they will be aiming not to return to the bottom of the league when they travel to strugglers Sherborne Town this weekend.

“We’d been bottom for a while but we’ve won two, lost one, and drawn one of the last four games so we’re not in bad form,” said boss Rawlings.

“The performances have been good recently and everyone’s sticking together and giving 110 per cent, which they might not all have been doing a while ago.

“It’s a massive game this weekend – we haven’t done that well against the other sides at the bottom of the league so far this season but we need a good result to try and get out of this basement battle.”

Defender Ali Rose returned to training with Corsham this week.
